A night of street photography in Shinjuku, Tokyo

I just uploaded a really short video where I compile a few shots that I took back in 2019 when I was in Tokyo for a few days. The pictures where taken with the Fujifilm X-T3 and most of them with the underrated Fujinon XC 50-230mm f4.5-6.7. I know that such a slow aperture is not the ideal for night photography but I wanted to take some highly compressed shots of the streets with the billboards lights on and I hoped that the stabilization of the lens would help me to keep the ISO low enough to get decent snaps. And I believe it did!

When traveling I always bring that lens, it's inexpensive, light and can help in certain situations like that night.

Regarding the video itself, I use as a baseline a walking video recorded with the DJI Osmo Pocket another little marvel. I used Nitrate Filmconvert plugin to get a low fi black and white look together with an incredible light effect of DaVinci Resolve Studio called light rays. I got the studio version of resolve when I recently bought the Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Studio Bundle and I cannot be happier!

Here are some of they pictures that air on the video:

Cinestill 800 Tungsten like footage using Davinci Resolve Studio

I am a fan of the cinematic look of the Cinestill 800 T film for night photography and I was surprised how easy it was to simulate the same look in video using the standard filters available in Davinci Resolve Studio (I'm not sure if it is available in the free version, though). I took some old DJI Osmo Pocket videos that I shot in a previous trip to Japan in 2019, did a basic color correction and then I applied the Glow effect, giving a boost to the red color. If you want to see the result here it is the video that I uploaded to YouTube: Remember to give the video a 'Like' if you liked it and subscribe to my channel if you want to see more!

Fujifilm X-T3 with Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 di vc g2

In this video I mixed a top-of-the-class full frame lens:  Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 di vc g2  (with Canon EF mount) with arguably one of the best APS-C cameras in the market, the mighty  Fujifilm X-T3 Of course, both pieces of gear cannot work together out of the box due to the different mount, but that's where the Fringer EF-FX Pro II comes into play. By using the Fringer adapter we are able to use many of the Canon EF lenses and thirdparty EF mount lenses almost as if they were native Fujinon lenses. If you own an EF lens you can check Fringer's lens compatibility list in their website . Without further ado, here it is the POV video: As you can see I started the photowalk going into the mountains, but suddenly I changed my mind and I went back to the town (I saw some suspicious car in the middle of the country road and I didn't want to take any risks...). Anyway, I found an interesting place in my home town, with some abandoned railway buildings and even an interesting (and s
